Donovan is here!

Well folks it's been an amazing ride! My baby boy is finally here. Ok so here's the story.

I wanted to work until August 8th. Donovan was due August 23rd. I was getting ready and preparing for him. I had so many plans to get ready. Cut my nails, clean our room, take things over to my mothers, clean the truck out, ect. Friday Aug 7th Brandon, my niece BriAnna and I went to the mall to go look around. We met my brother n law Jesse there. We had a great time. I made myself walk. Bri was my human walker. Sat Aug 8th I went to work and two of my favorite clients came in and got color. My husband and I only have one car so my brother Daryl picked me up from work and we went over to my moms because he had some side jobs to do for my mother. I went and laid down on the new bed that mom bought for Bran and I to lay on. All of a sudden I felt like I was peeing on myself. I sat up and I thought "oh that's not pee". I went and sat down on the toliet and for 10 minutes I swear I leaked. Ok the water broke. I called the hubby and he came home and we went to the hospital.

My lil sis Kelley is pregnant and she wanted to be with me to witness it in person and not have to read about it. So my first thought was to text her. She didn't respond. I called her no answer. Well I told Brandon to text Derek her hubby. Their side of the story is cute. So Kell and Derek were on their way.

I got admitted to the hospital. Then they checked me and I was only dilated to a 2. And the pain really hadn't started. Well they decided to put that crazy medicine in my IV to make my uterus contract. About 30 minutes later I was in pain. And dilating was slow moving. I got to about a 4 and I had quite enough. What I really couldn't understand was that everyone wanted me to scream. I didn't want to scream. I wanted Donovan to come into a relaxed atmosphere. Well finally after a whole night of contractions Sunday morning I finally was at a 10. The pushing ensued. For three hours I pushed and pictured the most beautiful boy I had ever seen. Kell and Bran did a great job of counting and holding my bricks for legs. I am sure Derek got an Eye full! LOL.

Well Donovan is a big boy and wasn't going to come out by pushing. We had to have a c-section. I was ok with it. I started to relax myself and tell myself he's almost here. Bran got scrubbed in and I was prepared to be opened. It was weird. I only felt tugging and pulling. The only bad thing was that the pain meds made my whole body except for my head and right arm numb. I couldn't hold my baby. Donovan was cleaned and taken to the nursery.

In the nursery Donovan's breathing couldn't be regulated. He got sent to the NICU. So I spent more time without holding my baby boy. While in the NICU I found out that my blood and Donovan's couldn't mix well. So it gave him Jaundice. So for the last 5 days I have been going in and out of the NICU to see him. I could have killed a few nurses. Some had better bedside manner than others. All I wanted to do was hold my lil man. Thursday I went up to the hospital to spend the day with my boy. while there his breathing regulated and he bottle fed, and I was told that we could do parent care that night and the next day we would be home bound. I was so excited!

That night we had a room to ourselves. Brandon, Donovan, and I. He had photo light for the jaundice. I got my first taste of sleepless nights. It was wonderful. Friday morning the nurse came and got him to do vitals and other related things. The nurse came back and said she didn't like how much he ate at night and that it wasn't enough. And he was cold. Well ya think? they had his clothes off so the light could hit him. She made me feel like a crappy mom. I got on the phone with my mom and told her that I think this nurse has a power trip. And low and behold after the doctor saw him we got to come home this afternoon. (Friday)

I am so happy to be home. Being at the hospital for a week unnerved me. And Donovan seems to like being home as well. I look forward to seeing him grow. My hubby and I really enjoy feeding him and he goes to the bathroom a lot. I am sore and would do it all over again. As much as the kiddo and I went through, I really reccommend it. He's the best thing I have ever done. I really hope to have pictures up and running soon!

Stay tuned!
